My background represents a blend of practical experience of originating and executing complex transactions in corporate and investment banking with a PhD in Management from IE Business School (#1 in Europe, 2014 Businessweek Ranking of MBA Programs, # 3 in Europe, Financial Times European Business School ranking).

 

My experience in investment banking, which involved close working relationships with financial investors and senior management teams, enabled me to structure attractive yet sound financial solutions for client firms. My last banking role as a Vice President for Leveraged Finance & Sponsor Coverage Spain and Portugal at a large European Bank saw our team set up and become a top 3 leveraged finance team on the Spanish market in its 2nd year of operations, originating and executing in excess of €1bn worth of deals.

 

In academia, I have worked for leading European business schools investigating issues of managerial decision making, entrepreneurial finance and change management. My experience in academia allowed me to get a deeper insight into the issues faced by organizations during crucial moments in their development. Specifically, I worked with companies undergoing processes of strategic change and those striving to survive and grow in the face of global recession, increasing competition and changing industry landscapes.
